Video of horse link https://s218.photobucket.com/albums/cc273/AC4H/Broker%20Owned%20Horses/?action=vi ew¤t=10-09-07bohorses050.flv I was contacted by a rescue facility asking if this is a Mangalarga Marchador, I don't believe he is, however I liked his gait, and truthfully once I had seen the video I did not have the heart to send him for slaughter in Canada tonight so purchased him for $600.00 At the very least I should be able to get him a good home if he is not suitable for my program. They wanted me to look at other videos too, but I declined as once I have a face I don't have the heart to send the animal to its death. I know, I'm completely ridiculous. I'm wondering if any of you can identify the gait?

Hi Ilona, Well, I don't know that breed, but first reaction watching him was that he looked iberian with odd movement. Looking up the Mangalarga Marchador I see that they are descended from the Andalusian and gaited, so maybe he is one. His conformation is plausibly Spanish. Glad you took him. Post photos etc. when you have him at home.

Sorry I can't answer your question, Ilona, but just wanted to say "Bless your Heart!!!" for taking him and I hope he works out OK for your program.

Did they give you any back ground? How old or tall? Might help in the investigation. What ever he is, we know he'll be loved.

Rick Lamb featured the M. Marchador on his show last week but the only thing I remember is the unique aspect that in their gait they have 3 feet on the ground for a moment and that sets them apart ?? Bless you for helping him and yes once I put see a face I'm done for also! Good Luck! Cindy
