Anyone know what breed this gorgeous creature is? This is a Hermes ad from September American Vogue magazine. Obviously shot in Paris.
Is it a PRE, or Andalusian? It looks like a silver dapple color. Do Spanish horses come in that color?

What breed?

Look at the long front hoofs.. some kind of 'Park' horse..

On the first day God created horses, on the second day he painted them with spots..

Might be a Rocky Mountain Horse. That is a popular color for them, and they are on the smaller side, at least the ones I have seen in person.

He is awesome!

He looks like 2yo Andalusian, Erika.

It is a rare colour that is not desirable in purebreds, don't know the name for it. The mane and tail is naturally more blonde than bleached.

The colour and length of mane and tail has been modified with photo editing software.

Especially the middle part of the mane looks absolutely ridiculous, no horse with such a young body has such a long mane.

It reminds me of a pony breed. Can you write to the editor and ask? Is there credit given to the photographer who took the photo? Maybe the photographer has a website and you can contact him/her directly.
We have a 3 year old FQH filly whose mane was longer than the one pictured when she was only two years old. Unusual for a QH, but true.

Looks Rocky Mountain. Is it gaited?

Happy Trails,

The ad is actually four pages, with the horse in all of them. I was thinking Rocky Mountain but I thought that would be rare in Paris.
I was a model before my kids and I suppose I could call in some contacts for the photographer, etc. But It's hard to find out in another county.
It looks small in this picture but in the ads it seems bigger (those girls are 5'10" or taller).
I thought it looked Spanish. Did a search on "Silver Dapple" color and PRE and Andalusian didn't come up with that color, but as you say, Christos, could be a crop out, albeit a pretty one!
Anyway, someone knows this beauty. Thought that with all of us members, all over the world, maybe someone would say "Hey! That's my horse!"

A friend of mine has a half Andalusian half Lippizaner that resembled this horse when younger.

Looks like a Rocky Mountain to me too, the body & head look too refined for a Lusitano or Andalusion IMO. But, it's impossible to tell how much editing occurred to change the picture

It is a Rocky Mountain. Went to a
Rocky Mountain breeder in Colorado and was told about this Hermes Ad with a young Rocky Mountain being the "star" of the photographs. This was a few months back, before the magazine came out.

Will I be able to see a live Rocky Mountain in Brushy Creek next year? I would love to!

Jos, try to have 16,17 and 18 March 2007 free and be able to travel to Essen.

I'll have the tickets, you'll see every single breed on this planet:

In the meanwhile, you may want to ride a Rocky Mountain Horse this month, before the weather gets rough:

I had RFD-TV on last night - show was Horse-N-Around. Episode says it is about the endangered Spanish mustang and geriatric horses. But it starts with Tennesse Walking Horses. I swear this was one of the horses they were showing walking around. This episode will be on again Sept 2 at 11:30 (central).

The horse looks just like Malaika (my Rocky Mountain on my profile), right down to the 2 white socks! She looked just like that at 2 1/2yrs old. She's filled out a bit now, but when I saw the picture I thought it was her in a different setting. Maybe I should do some advertising with her !

Guess this little horse didn't get a trip to Paris, either. The things they can do with computer manipulation are almost scary.

It looks like a Welsh section A, my daughter had one that looked similar; I'd say the colour is dapple grey.

Admittedly hers had a bit more Arab than most Welsh section A (11' 2")
