Does anyone know about this breed? It is a very small, pony type breed, and from what I understand they are gaited. I think it is a fairly new breed. I was just interested, as I hear people in the area talking about them. Are they an easily trained horse? Thanks for any info!!

Hi Megan--
I watched this breed being shown at the state 4H show at Lexington two years ago. I was standing next to the owners/breeders at the rail, who were watching their daughter ride in the class. Wow. I was really impressed! In fact, I took their email address with me...unfortunately I don't have it anymore, but I remember thinking if I was in the market for a large pony, I would certainly be interested in this breed. The horse I watched was flashy, a very cute mover, and yes, gaited. If I remember correctly, the horse placed pretty high in its class. Can't remember the specifics, but the breed registry is not very old. If I can dig up these folks' info, I'll send it to you. They were from the western part of Virginia up in the mountains.

Thanks for the info Terri! I just think they are a really good looking breed. They remind me of the Rocky Mountain but I really like the looks of these little guys. Let me know if you come up with it!
