I learned this from some dog show folks.

For soaping up and scrubbing animals (including horses) you can use the net balls that often come with people's "body wash" products or buy the net balls in in drug stores or dollar stores (2 for a dollar).

If you've not seen one, these balls are netting that is gathered up in a ball for scrubbing. For people, one wets it and puts the soft soap/wash on it to make a lather and then apply.

Guess what! The same technique works very well with animal shampoos. I use much less soap and get it over the whole critter quite easily.

My dog gives it 2 woofs and the horses 4 whinneys.
