Survey of Health Care Practices in Horsesby Robert N. Oglesby, DVMIntroductionThere is a growing body of knowledge on management and diseases of horses gleaned from surveys on large numbers of horses. In the US this is primarily the NAHMS (National Animal Health Monitoring System) study though there are others. The main purpose for these surveys is to try and correlate different management techniques with health outcomes so that we can make better recommendations. At the very least they provide guidelines to management practices used by others. It would be presumed the more frequently a practice is employed the more useful it is. In this article we will provide links and summaries to these studies.
