My mechanic has ordered the hitch. He asked me if I had a preference for where the wiring harness should go. Where do you put the wiring for a gooseneck hitch? Where do you plug in the trailer wiring on YOUR truck? Nancy |

I prefer my electrical connections to go high on the wall in the bed of the truck near the tail gate. Those placed under the bumper are prone to damage when backing down into a swell. DrO |

I would like my trailer to be wired so that the interior lights and hydraulic jack are always hot when the truck is hooked up (I don't want my truck to have to be running or the headlights on). How can I communicate that requirment to my dealer? I am ordering a custom trailer. My first trailer was also a custom (2001 model) but I want a new one. The last time they built me a trailer they didn't get it right and I assume they didn't understand what I was talking about. Thanks, Joni |

Joni, I would tell them just like you told me. Be careful though, this type set up is prone to running down the battery accidently, perhaps a switch can be installed that can be turned on or off. DrO |
