Hi guys my 18 month old filly is on free choice Bermuda and 6 lbs equine junior.. Im getting a new horse in and would like to have them both eat the same thing. Would free choice timothy/alfalfa be ok to feed? Eliminating the equine junior. I also have goats that I wanna feed free choice to. just wanna simplify my feeding regiment to suit everyone. does anyone feed mixed hay free choice? thx

Leslie, I don't kow anything about Burmuda hay but I can tell you what I do.
My horses at home have a round bale of mixed grass hay that they have access to all day. They would eat 24/7 so I bring them into the corral at night.
The only downsides to this are big hay bellies and more total hay consumption than the horse need. It sure is easier on my tho.
When we have sheep they were pastured with the horses. Sheep seldem eat stalks so what they left behing the horses cleaned up. We never had conflicts between the species.
