I have a list of cleaners and when to use them, it states that bleach is inactivated by organic material, creosols are good for organic cleaning(stalls). I couldn't find where mold fits in, mold is a bacteria so should be organic. The mold I need to clean is in a rubber feed bucet that got left in a friends trailer. Thank you. |

Mold is a fungus, so you'll need to find a fungicide. |

I always use Clorox for mold. Or white vinegar. I'd dump some bleach in it, leave is sit for a few hours, and rinse well. If using bleach bothers you, straight white vinegar will take care of it too. |

Lori, concerning bleach and organic materials, the point is not that it would not be good for mold or bacteria but if the mold and bacteria are mixed with lots of other organic material they may not be effective because the other stuff inactivates before it attacks the microbes. Use on plastic should be fine for antimicrobial action, particularly if you wash it first with soap and water. DrO |
