If you board your horse at a rather large barn, inevitably things go missing and wind up in other people's boxes most likely because no one knows who they belong to.

Although it is obvious to label all your items, either with indellible pen, name plates or engraving, some things cannot easily be labelled or you do not want them to be obviously labelled.

For things like bridles, martingales and reins where you don't want the name to be visible then I have found the next best labeling system is to stamp initials into the leather using small leather punches. The initials can be placed almost anywhere and are not obvious in the while show ring etc.

The punches cost about $6.00 for the whole alphabet and come in plenty of styles and sizes. Then all you need is a hammer.
