Is there any reason to avoid administering the two nasal vaccines at the same time? I am trying to spread out my horse's vaccinations as well as avoid needle usage the day the strangles nasal vaccine is administered. Do you have other suggestions as to how to schedule spring shots? I plan on doing these IMs: Tetanus, EEE, WEE, West Nile, Rabies. Still considering Rhino/herpes and botulism.

We don't know Ann, but since each is a yearly vaccine I give one at the yearly and the other 6 months later. You can give Strangles the same time as the injections just make it the last thing you handle. Why is there a reason to consider Botulism? DrO

Native is in a high traffic barn and his last flu vaccination was last spring with the IM, so I really think he needs a flu vaccination this spring before we start showing. The barn requires a spring strangles vaccination (owners have been thru a strangles outbreak and are understandably slightly paranoid on the subject). Botulism?? I've been reading up and just don't know if it's a problem in our area - it's on the vet's recommended list, but not on his HIGHLY recommended list. He is highly recommending rhino/herpes, but I'm still not convinced. I love it when I an expert admits "We dont know". It makes me TRUST the source! Thanks for the confidence inspiration, even though you didn't give me the answer I wanted to hear.
