Not sure if this is what you want: Horse Guard Fencing has a Bi-Polar tape that doesn't need grounding. Noticed it in their new catalog.

Hi angie,
Thanks! that is exactly what it is. I am going to put up a temp. pasture and that sounds like the best solution for me.
Thanks so much:-)

Leslie, Did you try the bipolar tape? I have the Horseguard catalog and I'm looking at it also for temporary pasture. Does anyone else have experience with it? Thanks, Carole

I haven't tried the bipolar but I have used horseguard fence for 7 years. It only has broken 2 times in all those years. One from a heard of deer running through it an the other a horse. Most of the time if a horse runs through it, it will stretch a bit and the insulator will break but can be fixed in minutes. The best part - never even leaves so much as a scratch on a horse that kicks and gets his leg caught in it or goes through. I've tried many other tape fences and this is by far the best and I use it as a permanent fence:-) Good luck!

nothing but horse guard around here too.. There are times i kind of wish i had a solid fence when the horses start to play across it.. but then again.. the only damage is a downed tape that is easy to fix and no marks on the horse..
Would i put it up again in a new place? YuP! sure would

On the first day God created horses, on the second day he painted them with spots..

I'm with Ann on this one. It's great for a regular fence, not so good for an arena, horrible for a round pen. And the arena and round pen aren't electric.

I'd use again too. In fact, I need another strand yet on one pasture, and have a 3rd pasture that is wood and wire, I would like to do that with 3 strands yet. Nice for divisions too.
