Well, my little mini is giving me headaches again- I just gave his first west nile shot, then I hear from the breeder that they "don't give west nile becasue of all the bad reactionsn in minis." What bad reactions? The vet knew of none (I asked beforehand) and I can't find info on it on this site or the net. I am in Florida, where mosquitos are the state bird. Lots of water all around, and west nile in every county so I hear. I can't imagine having an equine here and NOT giving west nile. Am I uninformed? I know about the Quest wormer thing....24 hours later the little guy seems fine. I was just wondering if anyone maybe has info on just what I should be aware of when considering vaccinations for my minis (I have 2). Not a lot of info is out there, and personal info/ anecdotes would be much appreciated. Gosh, it's sort of like owning ardvarks, with the minis-vets don't always know what to make of them! They are equines, yet are different in many respects. Thanks in advance, Beth Gordon.

I don't believe there is any special problem with minis and WNV shots Beth and we vaccinate several dozen every year.
