What is the nutrition when feeding brand new hay and is it good to feed new hay in the same amount that you would feed the old hay

Hello Wade,
The nutritional content of different types of hay is listed in Care for Horses » Nutrition » Forages for Horses. Those values are for fresh hay. Just because the hay changes, the rules for feeding forage do not. Both the Nutrition Overview article and the Forage Overview article deal with the issue of how much. Anytime the forage is changed it should be done slowly, rules for changing are found in the Forage article.
