My horse has a small rough little hole about the size of a finger tip in the sole of his left front hoof, along with the usual little cracks etc. It's rainy here in California and I need to keep it as clean as i can, he has had his fair share of nasty abcesses in that foot as well as foundering in it so I need to pay close attention to it, well while brushing my teeth it dawned on me that this might be a neato tool to use..so I took my electric toothbrush and an extra tip ( not the one I use!! )and tried it out. I mixed a little betadine and water, dipped the tip in it, turned it on and proceeded to clean out the hole, there is a foaming action and the little bits of dirt and stuff just bubbled out! rinsed with a squirt of water and wala!. Way much eaiser than using a regular tooth brush or small brush and the electric one does all the work. I went down to Wal-Mart and got him his very own electric toothbrush for $5.00

Linda, that is a great idea and thanks for the tip. Electric toothbrushes are so cheap nowadays. I even got one free a few weeks back when I bought a tube of toothpaste. I put it in a spare drawer as it has a Spiderman handle and neither my husband or I felt like using it!

But thanks to your tip guess where it is going...

Your idea got me thinking....why couldn't you also use an electric toothbrush to clean tack in those stitched places or in the carvings, etc.? Or, to clean bits, etc.??
