I have looked hard and long at buying a horse for my 13 year old daughter. I found one and the only thing that seems to be wrong with him is he has an underbite. He bottom teeth jut out in front of top teeth with his mouth closed. He is not under weight and seems to be in perfect health. His teeth are good, not cracked and he is 13 years old. With his jaw closed you can see about 4 bottom teeth out in front of the top teeth. I will get him vet checked but again it is expensive if this is bad enough problem. He is a show horse and is priced at 6k.

It all depends on how bad is the bite jennifer: with the mouth closed is there still contact between all opposing teeth? If not it will mean extra dental care keeping the teeth a proper length. Perhaps you should speak with those who have maintained the teeth in the past for an idea of how often and how much?
