I am giving my horse his spring shots Friday. He has reacted in the past, so he is getting a shot of Dex 1/2 hour before the shots. Can I give shots in the haunch? If not why not, and why do vets usually use the neck?

I answered my own question looking at your diagram. The reason they don't give it in the hind is because it is harder, and the horse's movement screws it up and the horses don't like it as much. My horse is fine for injections, so I think I am going to do two of the three shots back there.
