Use a yard stick and measuring tape to make both sides match. Measure from the ground up with the yard stick and the measuring tape from the back down. You can use blue painters tape to make tic marks on the horse then connect the dots with longer pieces of tape. Just be sure to stand the horse on a flat surface.

Cynthia, i use chalk.. works great and i can re chalk if i mis marked my horse..

Chalk is fine, the tip is the yard stick and measuring stick to get an even clip on both sides of your horse.
