We have a lot of yarrow, and yes, peppermint inour pasture. We found a large section of peppermint that spread from a nearby garden. This is a new area for the horses so they haven't been exposed to either of these plants. Although grass is primary plant life in our field, yarrow, peppermint, golden rod, red clover also share the space. Can you see anything that would be harmful?

According to Hilary Page Self's Modern Horse Herbal, yarrow, mint, red clover, and golden rod are all beneficial herbs for horses.

Golden rod: good for the kidneys
Mint: good for the digestive system
Red clover: good for rundown horses/recovering from illness/especially with cough, mucus
Yarrow: good for urinary infections

Thanks Sandra. That makes me feel more comfortable moving the horses, I have mostly rye grass in addition to the others, hopefully it will all be a healthy combination
