Hi,
I recently bought a 5 month old Mule, who is now 6 months old. I am going to worm my horses with Quest Plus. The package says it is good for horses and ponies 6 months and older. Is this an appropriate wormer for mules also? (I know with this product I must be careful to give the correct dose for the weight of the animal- as I have a miniature horse also and use this with her). I am assuming I would just follow the same worming schedule I use with the horses but wanted to make sure. I have never had a mule before so any help would be much appreciated.
Thank You, Betty

Hello Betty,
We know the product is safe but studies into efficacy are lacking. We dewormed our mule for 5 years using the products we recommend on the deworming schedule page and found our mule devoid of evidence of parasites. I would find a schedule that works for them both but checking that your program is working is of paramount importance for more on testing for parasites see, Horse Care » Worms, Deworming, Parasite Control » Overview of Deworming.
