I am looking for a new blanket and am wondering about the difference between nylon and cotton lining.
What are the differences?

Thank you

I like nylon. I found the cotton lining gets full of hair and extremely hard to clean. I also think nylon give their coat a shinier finish!! That could be just me though....

Lori like LeeAnn I like nylon because it stays cleaner. My old cotton one held onto the hair and odor more. I had a blanket that came with one of my horses that was entirely cotton, no nylon and besides the above problems stretched out quite a bit as well.

Another vote for nylon .. cotton liners tend to bind up more on the horse, where nylon slides over the coat more easily.

I agree with everyone above. Nylon is the way to go. Cotton is more likely to cause blanket rubs than nylon.

Another vote for nylon, for all the above reasons.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
This could be why the cotton lined are being offered so inexpensive.
I will go with nylon.

Thank you again.

Another vote here for Nylon lined. I have a light weight quilted (Amigo) stable blanket that I use at night when temps are in the 30*s...I can add a rainsheet over it for turnout...but I love it because it moves with the horse and does not bind or rub...and I can throw it in MY washing machine easily!
