With what I wrote on Rocky my gelding with a possible case of EPSM, would feeding beet pulp be a good direction?

He is always hungry. Here is my thought. I have them already on a low sugar hay. But if I was to mix a low carb grain with the beet...then add my Vit E and oil by maybe wheat-germ oil or something along those lines?

I have not gotten the diet the one lady said she would send. I did try to go in and remove my email address from the thread. But there must be a time period for editing a thread?

On soaking, how long do you soak them? Can you soak a couple of days worth? Or do you need to be concerned about them bacteria growing in it?

I sent you the diet my horse is doing wonderful on, but your email address bounces. Here is my address....send me a quick note and I'll try to resend. I'm sorry I didn't see the message until now, I work nights, 7pm to 3am, I'm a licensed veterinary technician and work for an emergency service.

Tami, I soak my beet pulp pellets for 24 hours when the weather stays below 50°. Much warmer than that and they start to get funky smelling after 8 hours. In the summer when feeding beet pulp I try to keep it in a cool spot and soak for 8 hours.

Tami, post this under your original discussion so I can see what you previously wrote.
