I read so much about the use of the panacur "powerpak" when due on a rotational basis. I'm not comfortable giving my horses this much medicine, even though I understand this is far from a toxic dose.my question is,is it even worth giving a single tube of this or can I substitute this for something else.My horses are at a small boarding facility where the manure is picked up daily and not spread in the pastures. The owner gives her horses a daily wormer and I prefer the rotational schedule. I'm reading more and more the trend is to do a fecal count.I've held off on this due to the expense and knowing it doesn't cover all the worms anyway.as far as climate,I live in Florida.thank you for any help in making the right decision. No I would say a single tube of Panacur is not worthwhile do to the high degree of resistance of strongyles to this dosage. Reread the articles on deworming overview and the strength and weaknesses of fecals. Whatever deworming schedule you choose fecals done correctly are your best indicator of whether what you are doing is working or not. DrO
