Hi DrO,

There is a new dewormer on the market, manufactured by Virbac, which contains two active ingredients that are no longer very effective on their own but apparently are in combination.

The ingredients are oxfendazole and pyrantel, and the product is called Strategy-T.

What is your opinion?

I don't know LL, there claim is that it is nearly as effective as ivermectin/praziquantel combination and even have a graph that suggests this. I have searched for the article they reference to make their claim and cannot find it. I also wonder if the product is as effective against the combination -azole / pyrantel resistant parasites we have in the United States. Until we can peg down more information it can be worth a try but be sure to monitor the results.
