Dr. O,

I have two American Shetland Ponies and I suspect they both have worms, one is showing signs more than the other. I gave them both a paste wormer (Ivermectin) 13 days ago and am waiting for the 6 wks to give a worming of Fenbendozole double dose for 5 days. Does this sound like a correct schedule/dose, or can I give the Fenbendozole double dose sooner then the 6 wks? They are on a daily wormer Strongid C.

Thanks in advance,

Jenny

A week would be fine to wait if there are no problems following the ivermectin. We do recommend long term use of Strongid daily see "Overview of Deworming" for more on this.
