Hi all,

I recently saw a fly spray recipe that included Dawn, vinegar, and water.
I have done a search and can't seem to find this recipe again.
Can anyone tell me the quantities needed of each ingredient and if anything else is needed to complete the recipe.

Thanks,

Lorrie

Hi Lorrie,

This is the recipe as I remember it: 1 cup water, 1 cup white vinegar, 1/3 cup Dawn. Some people add aromatic oils, but I have not tried that. I seem to remember eucalyptus oil as one of them.

Does it have to be white vinegar? Could the apple cider vinegar be used instead?

Gigi,
I think apple cider vinegar could be used - however, white vinegar is cheaper.

I don't know what it is about the Dawn Jen, but the recipe did say not to substitute it. I'd give it a try with another dish detergent though if you can't find the Dawn in your area.

Who knows, another dish soap might work just as well!

Hi Jenny,
I suspect Fairy Liquid IS the local equivalent. If you google Dawn it supposed to be good on the hands and both are made by Procter and Gamble.
