Hi,

I have been trying some different products for my horse. Just bought processed alfalfa forage from the Triple Crown Company. They have a great reputation, but I am concerned because on the bag it says "certified blister beetle free". Now, maybe it's worrying over nothing, but should I be concerned if this alfalfa is from a known beetle area? I'm from NH, so never heard of these bugs until joining the HA.

Thank you,

Cher Mc.

If you are going to feed alfalfa I think it is important that you educate yourself about them. To learn more about blister beetles Cher see, » Equine Diseases » Colic and GI Diseases » Colic in Horses » Blister Beetle Poisoning.
