Sometimes it is the simplest things that can stop an annoying behavior. We've two horses at the barn that start banging their stall door if they think it is feeding time or time for a treat ... if you close the top half of their stall, they stop kicking the door because they can't hang their head over it.

After a bit, they decide they'd rather hang their heads over and the kicking starts to extinguish.
