Hi all, I had been trying to figure out how to clean out one of the containers that liquid laundry soap comes in, so I could use it for adding corn oil to the feed. Then I saw at the grocery store that Crisco has come out with a 1/2 gallon container that has a measuring cup (just like the laundry soap bottles). So, I bought that, thinking I could always refill it if I wanted to buy corn oil in bulk. Lilo |

Our local feed store sells pumps that fit into gallon jugs for about $2 each. I transfer oil I buy in bulk into clean bleach jugs and attach the pump top. You can measure how many pumps equal the amount of oil the horse should get, then just squirt in that number of pumps. Saves having a messy measure cup around. (I use soy oil from Costco. Is it as good as corn oil for extra shine?) |

What a great idea, thanx Sara. I have figured out how much a handful of dog food/ horse supplements is, the squirts are even better!! |

Lilo, I would suggest that you rinse your measuring container with cold water several times. Soap will be easy to clean from the cup. What a good idea to use those soap scoops! I am always looking for scoops for something. |
