Hello,

Yesterday, I gave my mare the Prestige 5 with Havlogen vaccine shot. This is in preparation for her expectant foal in one month.

Today, while letting her into the barn, I noticed she had a nose bleed. I looked for any possible signs of head injury and found none.

After reading thru the posted Vaccination articles I found no connection between possible reaction to vaccines and nose bleeds. Is it possible for a horse to have a nose bleed as a reaction to a vaccination?

It is very unlikely and not one I have seen reported but I can come up with some scenerios: the vaccine potentiated a predisoposition to a autoimmune clotting disorder. So yes it is possible. If the bleeding is continuing or there are any other symptoms: unusual swellings, bolld shot eyes, blood anywhere it should not be... Yo need to have the mare looked at.
