Does the vaccine, Fluvac Plus, vaccinate for tetanus too? My vet, who is inexperienced, couldn't remember all of the ingredients in the vaccine. I, not having my head on straight at the time, forgot to ask for a tetanus shot. I only asked for the annual vaccines. Isn't tetanus part the annual series? I think it is important that they be protected, I find nails on the ground every once in a while.

I asked this very question about Fluvac plus last year having forgotten whether my horse's flu shot included it. The answer was yes, but bear in mind, I'm in Europe so it may be a different product here. Basically anything that says T plus or similar on it seems to have tetanus but I'm sure Dr O can give you a better answer.

It's regulations here to put the vaccinations into the horse's passport and have them stamped by the vet otherwise you can't enter many competitions. Did you check your horse's passport? There's a column for "disease protected against" where your vet might have written down if it's flu plus tet.

All the best

Hello All,
Imogen I think you are confusing Fort Dodge's Fluvac Plus with other products. You are right in that most products with Tetnus will include a cap T in the title but always best to read the bottle. The Fluvac Plus is just flu and the plus represents the inclusion of some new influenza strains.
