I was "de-spooking" my mare with a noisy plastic shopping bag and she wanted to sniff it. I let her, but she grabbed it and ran away with it! She wouldn't let me near her as she chewed it up and swallowed it. The vet said it should pass in 48 hours, but I haven't seen it yet, and it has been over that. She seems fine, by looking at her. I am still worried. Any suggestions or warnings?

I agree with your vet that if has a good chance of passing but am less sure exactly what the time frame will be. The good news is that it has had to pass through the smallest sections already, it would have caused clinical signs if stuck there by now. Be sure you feed lots of roughage seems to make the most sense to me. Colic will be the first symptom but if surgery is an option and the bag causes simple impaction it should give you time to get to the surgery table.
