Hi Dr.O:

Why would the skin on a horse's neck remain crimped when pinched? I wrote a detailed version in a previous post which for some reason wouldn't be taken! The horse is a 5yr old racehorse (standardbred)

Lack of resilency is the reason. Dehydration and old age cause sking to lose resilency but you may have a horse whose skin is just normally not as resilent as what you are use to. By itself it is of uncertain consequence and if the horse is absolutely healthy otherwise I would not be concerned.
