I have a clydesdale cross mare who is quite sensitive to heat. Its early summer hear and it is VERY hot even at night. What can I do to help my horse stay comfortable? She is out all day and has got shade but its hot in the shade too! I can't keep her in the barn as she has EPSM. Any suggestions?

Some dairies set up misting stations in the shade where fans and water misters work in combination to cool the animals. What makes you think your horse is having trouble Lea?

I don't think she is having trouble really but she is always a bit sweaty even when she's not working. Is this ok?

Yes this is fine. Be sure her condition stays a bit on the thin side, say a 5, and that the salt block is available.

Thanks DrO her condition is about 5.8 as her neck is getting very muscled. She gets 7g of salt daily in her food as well. Thanks again for your advice!
