After reading the articles in Diseases: Reproductive Diseases: Trouble Settling Mares &
Stallion Infertility: Abnormal Heat Cycles,
I am wondering if she could have tumours in her overies and how would I know this. I do not want to breed my mare but she does not feel well and I can't pinpoint anything wrong with her.
These tumors secretes hormones that prevent normal cycling. Surgical removal of the ovary is the only cure. The article states that this is a very common condition but does not say if it affects the horses health besides her not coming into heat. What do you think Dr.O. Could this be a clue to my horses poor performance?

Symptoms and diagnosis of these tumors is covered in Equine Diseases: Reproductive Diseases: Trouble Settling Mares & Stallion Infertility: Abnormal Heat Cycles (Estrus): Granulosa Cell Tumors in Mares.
