The whites of my 11 year old horses eyes and his gum membranes are tinged yellow. He is otherwise normal and shows none of the usual signs of liver disease. I realise that if a horse has not eaten for 24 hours this can be quite normal - but this chap will eat you out of house and home and his membranes have been this colour for the last 2 or 3 years. My vet seems unconcerned and says this is probably just normal colouring for this individual. Would you recommend blood testing anyway - or should I just stop worrying?
Regards

Hello MrsHSP,
I have seen horses that were mildly jaundiced normally but whether your horse is one of these I would only know by testing.
