Ann one problem you might have is that this swelling may have inflammatory components that are helped with cold there is sure to be a large congestive component, known as "dependent edema" that cold may actually exacerbate by decreasing the circulation that picks up this type edema. If the swelling is distinctly warmer than the opposite leg this is a sign cold may be of benefit: otherwise we recommend pressure bandaging.

Dr. O, yes her leg is distinctly warmer then the other leg..Becus she is always wrapped? She has been in a wrap since the accident, two long pillow no bow wraps covering her whole leg from below the fetlock to just under the hock.. The home vet is coming by today to give her another fluphenisine shot, I will have her take a look and feel to get another persons feel on the it.. I realize this is a serious injury, I guess I am just not prepared to see such swelling up her leg.. I will try today to get pictures to post on the other post.. Thank you..
