I have to vaccinate a mare with the mlv EVA vaccine before she goes to the breeding farm and am concerned about my pregnant mare that is due to foal at any time. Although the horses are in separate pastures, I want to make sure I can't carry the virus on boots or clothes.

Hi Scott, I went thru a similar scenerio in January. I predict many more people will too in the near future. There is a thread I started on this very subject, and should be easy to find- it was early January that I asked the same thing.
I chose to vaccinate all my horses for EVA including the pregnant mares. My repro vet has vaccinated over 800 mares since last July, in all stages of pregnancy with no problems.
Hope that helps.
Chris

Hello Scott,
though we do recommend you follow the instructions on the vaccine, Chris's experience should ease your mind about cross contamination which has not been a reported issue that I am aware of. If you want to be extra careful just always work with the pregnant mare and her pasture first.
