My 7mos old filly is recovering from the neurologic form of EHV-1. She contracted it when she was 4 mos. old. I'm wondering if there are any supplements or vitamins that should be added to help bring her along faster. She only has some residual right hind leg weakness. She is currently on B-12, 5000mg Vit E, Omega fatty acids and an overall mineral supplement.

Vinnie is eating 2 lbs of Nutrena Youth, 2 lbs of Blue Seal Kwik hay pellets (my hay is only 7%protein), Pasture during the day and hay for the night. She is about 13 hands, and ribby. She has been wormed with ivermecterin and is on daily Strongid.

If the pasture is in good condition. I think you are doing fine. If the pasture is not in good shape a general vitamin supplement could be in order. We have an article in the nutrition section that makes vitamin recommendations. I would contine the Vit E but once a general vitamin is began you can discontinue the B12.
