I have a young mustang that stands a lot with his left elbow cocked out causing his whole left front to twist to the inside. It doesn't seem to bother him and he is sound on the leg. He picks it up fine for trimming and cleaning but he stands that way almost without fail. Yesterday I was working on flexion exercises and he had his elbow cocked out. I think as a result he was unable to bend his neck all the way around to that side. Is this something I should be concerned with? Do you think an exam by the vet is warranted? Thanks for all input. Not being able to see this Holly I can only guess and if it worries you, have it looked at. I think if this is a occasional thing and is not getting worse that it may be no big deal. DrO

Thanks Doc. I'm going to try and get a picture of him standing this way and post it so you can take a look. My husband thinks I worry too much but I want to be sure for my own piece of mind. BTW, his loading to come home has really improved. No more refusing. He prefers to load with me standing outside the trailer so that's what we do. He automatically gets into position (slant wise) and waits for me to hook him up. Good Boy!
