Hi Dr O. and others,

A student of mine may possibly purchase a very quiet, sane 6 year old Quarter Horse Mare. The only concern I have is that she occasionally tips her head a bit sideways as though something is bothering her. She also overflexes sometimes as though avoiding the bit. She goes better (head quieter) in a snaffle then she does in a jointed kimberwick.

To me all this points to a mouth/teeth issue. Before a complete vetting we are going to have her mouth examined. My question is this. If there is not any obvious issue with her mouth or teeth what other medical issues could be causing a problem such as this?

Ella :-)
