Hello Dr.O,
Can you tell me what the difference is between Dermatophillus and Dermatophilosis is? Both terms are used in the description of Rain Rot or Rain Scald. Thanks

Dermatophillus is the name of the organism, while dermatophilosis is the name of the condition. When a horse is infected with dermatophillus you say he has dermatophilosis. Note: on the next upgrade of that article we will change the double "ll" for what seems to be the more preferred single l: dermatophilus.
