Dear Dr O:
I have read all the info. on bandanging. My question is: My horse is on stall rest for another 3 weeks. I have been wrapping ALL 4 legs for support (he has SDFT injury front). They are changed daily (lots of wrapping). I have 4 Professional Choice SMBII boots. I understand the neophrene (sp) does NOT breathe and should not be kept on a horse that is not working because the heat build-up could cause further damage. BUT, someone said they COULD be used. I am CONFUSED. Please clear this up. It would be much easier, BUT I wouldn't do anything that would hurt my horse. Thanks for all your help. This is my first bowed tendon experience. I am clueless although I am trying to learn. Thank you.

Of course you can use them on the healthy leg. But, if there is heat in the injured leg I too would hesitate to use neoprene wraps, save them for when the leg is cool and we want to warm them back up. Better would be a cool poltice with pressure bandages.

Thank you for your fast reply. That makes sense to me too. I will continue with the cold and standing wraps for now.
