Dr. O and Everyone, I have a niece in MN who has a gelding that is loosing hair in 'sheets'. All skin tests have come back negative. Awaiting the thyroid tests. This hair lose is on body, neck and legs. Last post from her said he seems to be swelling in his belly. She lives 30 min. away and has been ill with strep throat. Daughters have been watching. Could this excess hair loss be Rain Rot? Didn't see anything under Skin Disease this severe. Thanks one and all, Shirl

Seems unlikely as the skin lesions for rainrot are very characteristic.
