In the article regarding poor horn quality, a study is referenced that used a topical dressing on the hoof, along with proper diet, to improve horn quality. After 12 weeks, all horses were shown to have marked improvement.

Life Data Labs has a product that contains all the ingredients used in the study and it is in a tea tree oil base. Since the study didn't mention a commercially available preparation, I thought this might be of interest to some of you.
