Hi there my friends horse has a pretty good gash on his leg..I am wondering what you think is the best way of looking after it would be..I am using saline and a few drops of hibitane antibacterial soap..blotting dry and antibiotic ointment from the vet and wrapping it..Should I use scarlet oil to prevent proud flesh.thanks popjpeg{282185,leg wound}

Hello winger,
Without examining a wound we really cannot give you the best way to treat a specific horse's wound. However the way I treat wounds is given in the two articles "First Aid" and "Long Term Wound Care" and you will note we do not recommend the use of scarlet oil.
