Last night I noticed that there was something not right with Lucky's eyes. If this has been there before, I can't believe I missed it. This mare has a bulge in each eye above the pupil. There is a small amount of discharge in each eye (yellow) which I am sure is connected to the problem. There has been no discharge that I have seen prior to this. She has been wearing a fly mask every day. She gets handled often and is shown. The vet has been called, but wanted to know what you think. right eyeleft eye

Hello Jeanne,
I have seen such irregularities in the iris of horses before but I don't see it related to inflammatory problems of the conjunctiva. The conjunctivitis looks like sun irritation of the pink tissues around the eye.

Thanks for the quick response. I am guessing we have never seen it before this because we are looking down on our little friends most of the time. Appreciate your feedback.
