Hi All! It's been a while since I've posted...life gets so crazy!

Well, about 6 weeks ago I woke up to my mischievous Patches down with her hind legs stuck in the fencing. She was shivering when I found her and terribly exhausted from struggling, I am not sure how long she was down. I got her out and up after a bit of trouble, but she seemed OK besides some scrapes and a few not too serious cuts on her LH cannon bone. I gave her a shot of banamine as soon as I got her in. She was on bute daily for about 14 days. I put her on antibiotics (SMZ's) for 10 days as well to avoid infection. I am an expert on wound care thanks to my horse Moose, so I cleaned and bandaged daily, keeping a standing wrap on for about 3 weeks as there was alot of swelling, and went to nights only and to currently none. Her leg looks great except on the outer side of the cannon bone where the two deepest cuts were there is a 3-4inch long lump that is still warm. It is midway between the hock and fetlock on the outer front of the cannon bone. There are still two scabs there as well, but dry and healed. She is completely sound and never took a lame step throughout this except immediately following the incident where she held it up on and off the first hour or so. But I was cleaning it at that time too)

I guess my question is... Is there any ligaments there that I should be concerned with? Is the lump within normal range at this stage?

Outer aspect of the hind mid-cannon does not have any ligaments Melissa. A little to the front there is a extensor tendon a little behind this point is the splint bone but the lack of lameness suggests that nothing serious is broken.
