I have a filly who managed to stick a thorn in her left eye in Dec of 2003. She is now blind in that eye (which surprising isn't that big of an issue) and the eye is noticeably smaller. As a result the third eyelid is always exposed, covering a portion of the shrunken eye. I keep a special mask on her to protect it from the sun. My question is, I spoke with a vet when I first purchased her last April and he thought the eye would likely continue to shrink until it had to be removed. It's been over a year and the eye hasn't changed. Is this an idication that she will be able to keep the eye?

My experience is the same as your vets, once it has begun to shrink it continues but I have seen that happened very slowly. Time will tell Carla and we will keep our fingers crossed for luck.
