Dr O,

In your experience can foal heat diarrhea occur as late as one month after birth? I have a foal that has very watery diarrhea (for about 2 days) but so far appears healthy and is nursing. The mare's behavior is normal.

Thanks.

George

Hello George,
Yes I have seen unexplained self limiting diarrheas in 30 day old foals. Before pronouncing this as such be sure to check that the vital signs are normal.
