Could regumate lead to hives? My mare has never had any skin problems, but has been on regumate for about a week. I have begun to notice what looks like hives - but they do not appear to be overly itchy. Luckily, today is her last dosage day, but I am curious if this could be a reaction to the hormone. I noted in your article that hormones might be a trigger for hives, but wondered about this particular hormone. we do have an overabundance of nasty biting flies currently as well. Could she be more sensitive to the bug bites due to the hormone? Anyone have any similar experiences with this?

It would be very unusual for the Regumate to be related to your hives Sheri. Not impossible but I don't know of any other cases.

Okay - thanks for the response. We'll look for something else that might have contributed to the condition. She seems much improved today - until I gave her the shot to bring her into heat. Poor baby - hot, sweaty, and visibly cramping. Luckily, our vet warned us of this reaction and we were armed and ready with the hose! She really seemed to enjoy the cold shower and seems quite fine now. Hope all these shenanigans results in a foal next June! Thanks again...
